There Is Always A Way.

Despite all the current challenges that exist in the world today, for those who are passionate and determine there is always a way.

In business just as in life, the most adaptable will not only survive, but thrive and succeed in any environment despite what may be going on around them, physically, emotionally or financially.

The three most powerful pillars of success in ANY business, no matter what the size are:

  1. A robust and adaptable system.

Having been someone who rebelled against any system that came my way, I successfully generator the whole heap of failure pain and disappointment that I could ever hope to achieve.

And when I was truly successful, I discovered that a robust and adaptable system underpinned that success with a solid foundation.

If you haven’t got a system or a good system… then I passionately recommended that you take the time and develop a process that will support and leverage your future success.

  1. Transferable education.

I never truly understood what transferable education actually meant, until I found myself in a job that tapped into a wide variety of skills that I had learnt throughout my life.

I was amazed to realise that’s my public speaking skills, my ability to write, being passionate about customer service and genuinely wanting people to succeed were transferable skills that allowed me to create significant success in my chosen profession.

  1. Accountability (Watch this space for a future article)

Accountability is a very interesting and misunderstood concept.

I highly recommend that you find and digest the definition of accountability, but please understand that accountability is not just about your own accountability to yourself (even though this can be the most challenging), but being accountable to your friends, to your family, your staff, but most importantly to your clients.

Please remember though…

No business is a business without people, and the most important things that help people develop and maintain great relationships that are adaptable… well…

Just add… smiles, hugs and coffee… LOL

Let’s Create A Better Attitude

I have said it before, that my real hope for the future is that people actually stop… and start to think before opening their mouths or posting stuff without thinking about the source or checking the facts…

Thanks to a media that no longer takes any social, moral or ethical consideration for what they write… people have become more narrow minded, bigoted, racist and fearful…

Here are some simple truths… ones that DO need to be considered…

Not ALL black folks are criminals…

Not ALL white people are racist…

Not ALL police are bad…

Not ALL opinions… no matter the source are the truth…

Ignorance and fear comes in ALL colours and styles…

Please REMEMBER… one persons truth is almost always another persons opinion…

Courage, respect, willingness to learn and share and thoughtful consideration… will ALWAYS create a better world that the one we are currently seeing…

Blessings…

7 Reasons Why People Act Differently Online…

7 Reasons Why People Act Differently Online and why Social Media causes so many issues with relationships… both personally and in business:

1. We know we’re being watched, what is worse, we encourage others to watch us… “Oh what a web we weave…”

2. We can choose what information people see about us, despite the fact that most of the time it is highly sanitised and unrealistic.

3. When we feel comfortable online, we sometimes go overboard, because when we feel comfortable we get an unrealistic feeling of power and judgement.

4. Reading other people’s posts can make us less self-aware… this is a huge trap as we start to care more about others opinions than our own.

5. We care less about what our ‘weak ties’ think… or so we would like to imagine… yet when connections who don’t know us pass critical judgements (and they do), they send us into an emotional spin… despite the fact that our strong ties often support us.

6. It’s easier to hate online personas than it is to hate people in real life… a blatant consequence of narcissistic and judgemental behaviours.

7. We want to impress our colleagues and friends… which we can… but often times we alienate people because of our behaviours online.

Food for thought… 🙂

Right Focus… Better Result.

In business and personally we seem to constantly be focusing on all the wrong things… money, power, success… and it’s all supposed to lead to happiness.

What follows is an old Buddhist parable (which was sent to me recently by a close friend as a very gentle reminder), that could be of some interest to you because happiness actually comes from within, and if you start to become truly happy, the normal trappings of success that we seem to be constantly chasing start to eventuate far more easily and effortlessly than we thought.

Enjoy…

“Long ago, when the earth and all living creatures were being created, a meeting was called of the council of the Gods. They wanted to make the One Thing available to all Human beings, but they were concerned that it might be misused. So they decided to hide it, where only those people who could value its power could find it.

Where to hide the One Thing was the question. “Let’s bury it deep in the earth,” said one God. But another answered, “No, that will not do, because humans will eventually create huge machines to dig into the earth and find it.”

Another God said, “Let’s sink it in the deepest ocean.” But then came the objection, “No, not there, for they will learn to dive into the ocean in big metal fishes, and will find it.” Then someone said, “Let’s take it to the top of the highest mountain and hide it there.” But once again another replied, “No, that will not do either, because they will eventually climb every mountain and put the One Thing to improper use.” Then they all gave up in despondency. “We do not know where to hide it, because it seems that there is no place on earth or in the sea that human beings will not eventually reach.”

The King of all the Gods thought for a long time and then said, “Here is what we will do. We will hide the One Thing deep in the center of their own being, for humans will never think to look for it there.”

They all agreed that this was the perfect hiding place, and the deed was done. Since that time, humans have been going up and down the earth, digging, diving, climbing, and exploring, searching for power and riches and resources, when all the time the greatest treasure is already within themselves.”

Remember, we are not business people… we are people in business and every journey that we undertake starts from within.
